Sourcing Only Kimberley Process Diamonds
Whiteflash buys natural diamonds exclusively from suppliers who operate in compliance with the Kimberley Process, the international certification system that governs the legitimate trade in rough diamonds. Established in 2003 as a joint effort of governments, the diamond industry, and civil society, the system requires that rough diamonds be sealed in tamper-resistant containers and carry validated certificates of origin as they move across borders. It has since grown to include participants representing 86 countries and now covers roughly 99 percent of the world's rough diamond production. Participating countries trade rough diamonds only with other members, and each shipment is documented as it changes hands.
The company has followed that standard for more than twenty years, and treats it as a baseline for every natural diamond it sells.
Giving Back Through Dreams of Africa
Whiteflash also supports children's charities through Dreams of Africa, a themed jewelry collection whose profits go entirely to Jewelers for Children. Founded by the United States jewelry industry in 1999, Jewelers for Children funds national children's organizations, including Make-A-Wish and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, that serve children affected by serious illness, abuse, and neglect. The charity raises money across the jewelry trade and directs it to established programs rather than running its own, so contributions reach groups with long records in children's health and welfare.
