Tyler joins Bick Law after serving for seven years as a Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) in Washington, D.C. During his tenure at the DOJ, Tyler defended high-profile government permits and projects in federal courts across the country. His work involved critical issues such as southern border security, mineral and oil and gas development, and initiatives to mitigate catastrophic wildfires.
Tyler has deep experience with a wide range of federal environmental statutes, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), National Forest Management Act (NFMA), Multiple-Use Sustained-Yield Act (MUSYA), Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act. He has also litigated water rights matters in California and represented the United States in Fifth Amendment takings trials before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Tyler also served as a judicial clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
