GEORGIA LEGAL FOOD FRENZY FIGHTS HUNGER BY RAISING NEARLY $600,000

The legal community united to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank and provide 1.8 million meals

ATLANTA, GA, June 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a leader in the fight against hunger in the Southeast, celebrated a successful 14th annual Legal Food Frenzy, raising an impressive $594,083, equivalent to 1.8 million meals. Legal Food Frenzy is a two-week fundraising competition held in partnership with the Office of the Attorney General, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia, and Feeding Georgia. The competition serves as a call to action to confront hunger in the Southeast.

The 2025 Legal Food Frenzy kicked off in April with the Volunteer Legal hosted at the Hunger Action Center. The event engaged volunteers who sorted and packed 11,857 pounds of food—providing 9,889 meals to food-insecure individuals in metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

"We are honored to be able to continue this collaboration with our local legal community. Their efforts amplify the impact we are able to have on the fight against hunger for our neighbors who need us most," said Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. "As the need for our services and resources increases, we are fortunate to have the support and dedication of legal professionals to help further our mission."

Legal Food Frenzy launched in 2012, and over the years, it has raised more than 27 million meals for Georgia's food banks statewide, including close to $5.6 million raised for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Teams compete to earn points by fundraising for the food bank and promoting the competition, with multiple award categories and opportunities for statewide recognition.

A coalition of 105 law firms and legal organizations representing 9,154 members of Georgia's legal community competed for the fundraiser's two grand prize awards. This year, Greenberg Traurig LLP was awarded the President's Cup for accumulating the most overall points, and Habachy Law clinched the Attorney General's Cup for achieving the most points per person.

For the Atlanta-area region, Arnall Golden Gregory won the Regional MVP award for total points, and Page Perry won the Regional MVP award for per capita points. Additional honors included Rookie of the Year awarded to Bridger Law, and Hunger Relief Champion to Steve Salbu. Bridger Law also received the Volunteer Legal Strength in Numbers Impact Award, whilst Smurfit Westrock was recognized with the Volunteer Legal Power in Participation Award. A full list of state-wide and regional winners can be found here.
