LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - May 5, 2025 - This past Saturday, Alexander Park transformed into a beacon of hope, health, and unity as a dedicated group of women spearheaded a highly successful Community Health Fair. The event, hosted by The African Women PAC, drew hundreds of attendees eager to take advantage of free health screenings, wellness workshops, and community-building activities.
The fair, which took place from 10 AM to 2 PM at Pavilion #2, featured essential health services such as blood pressure and glucose checks, cholesterol and breast examinations, and brain and memory screenings. Attendees also enjoyed behavioral health resources, nutritional education, and CPR training. In partnership with Kroger, the first 50 participants received free sickle cell testing, underscoring the event's commitment to health equity.
Dr. Romeo Massoud, a renowned trauma and general surgeon, captivated the audience with his inspiring keynote address on the importance of preventive care. Meanwhile, DJ Rooster kept the energy high with live music, while Zumba, dance, and yoga sessions encouraged attendees to get moving and prioritize their wellness.
The women behind the event exemplified the power of community-driven leadership. Their meticulous planning and dedication ensured a seamless experience for attendees, who left informed, empowered, and motivated to take charge of their health.
