Written by Tabanelli Andrea together with the group, Hypermarket is a sonic collision of dancefloor energy, grunge grit, and club-ready chaos. The track takes listeners on a trip through a world of flashing neon lights, checkout scanners, and buzzing screen. It is a metaphor for the sensory overload of modern life.
“Hypermarket is where anger meets melancholy, where the visceral howl of ‘90s grunge finds a home inside a pulsing indie pop track,” says Mud Audio Voodoo. “We wanted to capture that feeling of living in a world that feels out of control and surrounded by consumerism, numbed by digital alienation and somehow dance through it.”
The track is unapologetically bold, with an electric guitar tone that feels like it’s been ripped straight from a basement jam session in Seattle circa 1993. Yet it’s not just a nostalgic nod. Mud Audio Voodoo infuse the song with their trademark electronic textures and eccentric production tricks, creating a sound that’s both gritty and modern. Mud Audio Voodoo is a project born in 2015 out of a love for electronic experimentation, late-night club culture, and the restless energy of alternative rock.
