Current Utility Partnerships SVP, Amanda Mortlock, to spearhead new company, Onward Climate

3Degrees, a leading global climate solutions provider, today announced that it is spinning off its Utility Partnerships business into a separate company, Onward Climate LLC (Onward). Onward will be led by multi-decade industry veteran Amanda Mortlock, who has led the Utility Partnerships business under 3Degrees since 2016 and will serve as Onward’s President.

Mortlock began her career with 3Degrees in 2004 and has been the driving force behind the growth and success of its Utility Partnerships business. Under her leadership, the team has enrolled more than 700,000 residential customers in voluntary customer programs for electric and gas utilities across the United States.

After the transaction’s expected close on November 1, 3Degrees will maintain a minority stake in Onward and serve as its environmental commodity supplier, while 3Degrees leadership directs its full attention to accelerating the company’s own ambitious growth plans. In recent years, this has included expansion of 3Degrees’ work in Asia including the opening of a Singapore office, expanding its line of credit with Citibank, launching more robust climate solutions for its European customers, and the creation of new, innovative decarbonization and digital offerings, such as supply chain reductions (SCRs) and Supplier REach, a platform for clients to easily engage their suppliers to address scope 3 emissions.
