Seven Ardent Health Facilities Earn “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Ardent Health (NYSE: ARDT), a leading provider of healthcare in growing mid-sized urban communities across the U.S., today announced that seven of its facilities earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

"At Ardent, safety is our highest priority, ensuring the well-being of every patient, team member and visitor in our care," said Ardent Health President and CEO Marty Bonick. "This recognition reflects our deep commitment to patient-centered care and a strong culture of safety – made possible by the dedication of our teams who work tirelessly to deliver exceptional care each day."

For spring 2025, 81% of Ardent’s eligible facilities earned an “A” or “B” Hospital Safety Grade compared to 56% of eligible hospitals nationally. The seven Ardent facilities that earned an “A” grade include:

  • Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center (Westwood, New Jersey)
  • Hillcrest Hospital South (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
  • Hillcrest Medical Center (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
  • Lovelace Women's Hospital (Albuquerque, New Mexico)
  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights (Harker Heights, Texas)
  • UT Health Henderson (Henderson, Texas)
  • UT Health Jacksonville (Jacksonville, Texas)

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Ardent Health, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
