Vizient Announces Rebranding of Southern Strategic Sourcing Group to ampiezza

New name reflects expansion, collaboration, and member-driven momentum

The new name, an Italian word meaning “breadth and magnitude,” reflects the group’s expanding scale and deepening impact across the healthcare supply chain.

ampiezza, founded by Ochsner Health and supported by Vizient, unites over 90 health systems acting as one single sourcing entity. Southern Strategic Sourcing Partners, L.L.C. now doing business as ampiezza drives $5 billion in spend and over $50 million in savings annually by aggregating volume across key categories—physician preference items, medical-surgical supplies, pharmacy, and indirect spend—maximizing value, quality and collaboration through transparent governance and clinically integrated, member-driven strategies.
