American Banker magazine has named Regions Bank's Janel Taylor to its 2025 Most Powerful Women in Banking: Next list.

Taylor is a senior vice president in Regions’ Human Resources division. She is a key leader within the bank’s Learning and Development group, where she manages the bank’s Emerging Talent Program, an early career program created to train and develop current college students and recent college graduates as they begin to build a career with Regions.

The American Banker distinction honors high-achieving women 40 years of age and under who have successfully executed major internal projects, initiated meaningful change within their banks, and are helping shape the future of the financial services industry.

“Janel Taylor is a valued human resources partner at Regions Bank and an exemplary leader in the financial services industry,” said Angela Santone, Regions’ Chief People Officer. “She never loses sight of the ‘why’ behind our work – the opportunity to help people reach their financial goals while also providing rewarding careers and an exceptional workplace. We are proud of this latest American Banker recognition, and we congratulate Janel on this well-deserved honor.”

Taylor joined Regions in 2017. In addition to managing the Emerging Talent Program, she leads a team of strategic learning program managers who serve all business and support groups at the bank, delivering comprehensive programs that equip associates to meet customer needs today and in the future. For example, Taylor manages Regions’ Guild Tuition assistance program and leads various upskilling, reskilling and development initiatives, with an emphasis on scaling the bank’s leadership and learning programs to serve more associates, helping them build their career with Regions to serve clients across all lines of business. Taylor began her banking career in 2008.

“At Regions, we are committed to providing opportunities, support and resources to help associates continue to learn and grow professionally,” Taylor said. “Seeing the impact our teams can make as they gain new skills to support the bank and our customers is a privilege. And serving a role in the success of our associates is truly energizing. I’m humbled to be recognized among this year’s class of outstanding young female leaders in financial services.”

Taylor earned a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Texas McCombs School of Business Executive Leadership Program. She is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham. Taylor was previously recognized by the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2023 Top 40 Under 40 class.
