Research shows that senior dogs have around a 25% adoption rate compared to the 60% for younger dogs. With shelters often reporting that older pets can remain unadopted for months or even years, Earth Buddy seeks to reframe perceptions and encourage families to consider welcoming an older companion into their homes.

As part of this effort, Earth Buddy is sharing findings from its 2022 Pet Mobility Study, a 26-day project involving approximately thirty dogs and a handful of skeptical cats. Participants provided daily assessments on ease of movement, engagement in routine activities, and general demeanor. Across the study period, many owners reported noticeable improvements in how their pets navigated everyday tasks, their overall ability to run or walk, and their general quality of life.
