SaNDAI Cares now accepting applications for DataGen Scholars program; empowers high school students with skills in data analytics and generative AI

Hands-on program develops future workforce by enabling students from all backgrounds to gain key expertise and excel in a data-driven world

WASHINGTON, D.C. - SaNDAI Cares Inc., the not-for-profit division of SaNDAI Global, is currently accepting applications for its DataGen Scholars program, a 12-month program that introduces high school students to the dynamic fields of data analytics and generative artificial intelligence. Participants engage in virtual sessions, self-paced learning, and hands-on projects that prepare them for careers in technical fields.

The program is open to 10th – 12th grade high school students and SaNDAI Cares’ inclusive approach encourages applicants from underserved and underrepresented communities.

“This program serves a critical community need and provides students with intellectual tools that will propel them into successful careers in emerging technologies,” said Jeremy Williams Sr., Chief Executive Officer, SaNDAI Global, Inc. “It is essential to bridge the digital divide and to empower high school students with technical skills. The opportunity to learn and master data analytics and generative AI puts students in the perfect position to find stable, well-paying jobs.”

The program not only bridges the educational gap, but it will also help to solve an issue many companies face in recruiting talent to fill jobs requiring data literacy and AI skills. It provides students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, a path to gaining tangible skills and demonstrable achievements.

During the program, students must complete 36 eLearning courses designed to inspire them to begin understanding data analytics and generative Al. All participants will receive industry certification as a data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer via SaNDAI Cares’ corporate partner DataCamp Donates. Program participants not only earn industry certifications but also broaden their understanding of the entire tech industry through regular STEM workshops provided by our corporate partner, GiSTEM, Inc.

“The most intriguing aspect of our program is the learn-and-earn model, which compensates participants for acquiring knowledge,” Williams said. “After six months in the program, students are given paid work placement, which is a hands-on work experience that legitimatizes their work credentials for their resumes and LinkedIn profiles.”

SaNDAI Cares is preparing the next generation of innovators and problem solvers, ensuring they can thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape. At the end of their course, they will have desirable skills to enter the job market and meet technological innovation needs.

Currently, 85 students are enrolled in the program. The goal this year is to enroll up to 150 students from disadvantaged communities from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, with an even bigger goal to enroll at least 50 students from every state in 2025. These data literacy and emerging technology skills will empower high school students from underrepresented backgrounds across America.
