Inspire Ambitions Unveils New Report Showing Graduate Expectation Gap in the UAE Workforce

By: Get News
Inspire Ambitions launches “The 2025 Graduate Expectation Gap Report,” highlighting disconnects between student career expectations and workplace realities.

A new report released today by Inspire Ambitions, The 2025 Graduate Expectation Gap Report, reveals that a significant majority of recent graduates in the UAE feel unprepared for the realities of today’s workplace. The findings shed light on a widening divide between university preparation and the skills needed to succeed in post-pandemic corporate environments.

According to the report, nearly 70 percent of graduates believe their universities did not adequately prepare them for their first job, while over 60 percent expressed concerns about workplace wellbeing and career progression. These insights point to a pressing need for structured support as young professionals navigate an increasingly complex labor market.

“The numbers tell a clear story — graduates are entering the workforce with ambition, but too often without the tools to thrive,” said Kim Kiyingi, founder of Inspire Ambitions and author of From Campus to Career. “This report is not just about data. It’s about providing solutions to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional success.”

Inspire Ambitions developed the report after years of working with graduates and young professionals across the region. The organization found recurring themes of career uncertainty, self-doubt, and limited leadership readiness. To address these challenges, Inspire Ambitions offers programs focused on confidence building, stress management, and leadership development.

The report also underscores the broader challenges facing employers. With more than three-quarters of professionals in the Gulf open to new opportunities or career shifts, companies face mounting pressure to retain top talent. Equipping young employees with career clarity and resilience may be key to reducing turnover.

“As the UAE continues to prioritize workforce development as part of its long-term economic vision, bridging the expectation gap is vital,” Kiyingi said. “Our goal is to empower both individuals and organizations to align on what success looks like in today’s workplace.”

Alongside the release of the report, Inspire Ambitions announced the expansion of its career coaching services in the UAE, broadening its individual and group programs to meet rising demand for professional development and wellbeing. The company’s offerings include one-on-one coaching, group sessions, and digital resources designed to support professionals at all career stages.

Kiyingi’s book, From Campus to Career, further explores these themes, offering practical guidance for students and graduates preparing for their professional journeys. The book is available at Inspire Ambitions.
