RGC Hoisting Introduces Next-Generation PHD Ladder Hoists for Safer, More Efficient Job Sites

By: Get News

Buffalo, NY - September 8, 2025 - RGC Hoisting, a manufacturer of professional-grade lifting solutions for over 75 years, has launched its new line of PHD Ladder Hoists. The product line includes three models: the PHD 250, PHD 400, and PHD 400 pivoting. Each one is designed to address the growing need for safer and more efficient equipment in the roofing and construction industries, where workers regularly face risks associated with heavy lifting and physically demanding work environments.

RGC’s new PHD Ladder Hoist delivers safe, efficient lifting power for roofing contractors and construction pros nationwide.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, roofing remains one of the most dangerous professions in the country with falls and manual material handling consistently cited as leading causes of injury. A single bundle of shingles can weigh 60 to 80 pounds, and an average roof may require up to 80 bundles. RGC Hoisting’s new PHD ladder hoists aim to solve this challenge by reducing the strain and fatigue of manual lifting, offering a compact yet powerful solution for material handling.

The PHD 250 offers a 25% increase in lifting capacities over the previous 200 lbs. Classic Model, and the PHD 400 is capable of lifting loads of up to 400 pounds to heights of 44 feet. Each model is available with Briggs & Stratton or Honda gas drive options, delivering a reliable performance in demanding conditions. They also feature single-handle operation, quick setup, and durable construction built to withstand rigorous daily use.

Packages are available in 16 ft., 28 ft., and 44 ft. options, with modular track sections and accessories that allow crews to tailor the system to specific project requirements – whether that be a residential or commercial project. The PHD 400 Pivoting model also introduces enhanced safety and flexibility, making it easier to position and maneuver loads safely onto steep rooftops.

“Roofing contractors and builders rely on safe, efficient tools to keep projects moving,” said Jennifer Von Dungen, Marketing & Sales Specialist of RGC Hoisting. “With the PHD series, we’re delivering more convenient lifting power and smart design features that help crews work with greater confidence and less risk.”

The launch of the PHD Ladder Hoist line continues RGC Hoisting’s long-standing tradition of innovation in the industry, delivering professional-grade solutions that put safety and efficiency first.
