The range of topics includes provisions found in the recently passed new tax bill, to Next Generation succession issues, and to upcoming legislation affecting family businesses, successful families, and family offices.

The month is highlighted by a Nov. 5 webcast with wealth managers at Pathstone on the subject of “Parenting Amidst Wealth,” a Nov. 6 virtual webinar at the Lido Consulting event in Los Angeles, and the Grand Rapids Family Business Center Annual Event, with topic of “The Gravitational Pull of Purpose” on Nov. 11.

The year is wrapped up with a podcast once again hosted by Family Business Magazine and featuring Soldano and Needles.

Speakers at the events include Soldano, John Gugliada, Director of Engagement for both Family Enterprise USA and Policy and Taxation Group, and tax experts Russ Sullivan and Mark Warren, Partners at the law and government affairs firm, Brownstein, Washington, D.C. Also participating are Caren Street, Principal, and Michael Hawthorne, Associate, at law and government affairs firm Squire Patton Boggs, Washington, D.C.

During the meetings, Soldano and Gugliada, and the tax experts, will present recent research findings, as well as legislative updates for family businesses, and highlights from the recently passed H.R. 1 tax act.

“We’re excited about the last meetings of the year with our team of experts and our attending family business and family office leaders,” said Soldano about the schedule of events. “Family Enterprise USA and Policy and Taxation Group provide a voice in Washington, D.C., and as we travel the country we work with family businesses, family offices, and family business centers to help raise their voice on the issues Congress needs to know about,” she said. “We need to continually educate Congress and voters on the importance of family businesses and successful families in America, the largest private employer and greatest generator of jobs we have.”
