U.S. Military Officer Requests Letter of Marque to Combat Cartels—Calls for Privatized Action

By: PRLog

AUSTIN, Texas - March 15, 2025 - PRLog -- Asa Palagi, a U.S. military PSYOP officer and the founder of Notorious Security Group, has formally requested a Letter of Marque from President Donald J. Trump, seeking authorization to engage in direct action against the cartels operating along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Palagi, who also founded Cascadia Global Security, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his bold request, tagging prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Senator Mike Lee, Donald Trump Jr., and former President Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump). His tweet read:

"Americans do not need bureaucrats, we need action! @realDonaldTrump I am requesting a Letter of Marque @elonmusk @SenMikeLee @DonaldJTrumpJr"

In a letter addressed to Trump, Palagi argued that privatized security forces could achieve in one year what bloated government agencies have failed to do for decades. He vowed to launch immediate, targeted operations against cartel networks that have been designated as terrorist organizations.

"Bureaucrats have failed us. The American spirit has always been the backbone of this nation. Our country is crumbling under illegal immigration, crime, degeneracy, feminization, and mental and physical unfitness," Palagi wrote.

A Historic Call for Private Action

Letters of Marque, once issued by the U.S. government during the 18th and 19th centuries, granted private citizens the authority to engage in sanctioned military operations. Palagi's request aligns with recent discussions by high-profile figures, including Trump himself, on reviving this historical tool as an alternative to conventional military interventions.

"I am not asking for money, resources, or military support. All I request is your endorsement, a single letter with your seal,"
Palagi stated in his letter.

Palagi has also submitted his request through formal government channels. If granted, this could mark the first official revival of a Letter of Marque in modern U.S. history—a move that could redefine national security policy in the private sector.

More Than Just a Request—A Challenge

Palagi also issued a challenge to Trump, urging him not to reserve this power for established figures like Erik Prince, but to "let the best man win" by opening the opportunity to those willing to take action.
