Intermountain Health Supply Chain continues to rank in the top five, reflecting a sustained focus to guide transformation, improve patient outcomes, and control costs.

Intermountain Health’s Supply Chain organization has achieved Master status for the eighth consecutive year from Gartner Healthcare, making it a Supply Chain Top 25 for 2025 for sustained supply chain leadership, performance and innovation.
The annual ranking by Gartner, a renowned national business insights company, recognizes and celebrates health systems demonstrating excellence in supply chain management, highlighting its role as a strategic differentiator in healthcare.
The Master designation is given to organizations that have ranked in the top five in seven of the previous 10 years and reflects a sustained focus and intentional investment in the supply chain, guiding transformation needed to improve patient outcomes and control costs.
“Receiving Masters status from Gartner is an honor, and it reflects the incredible work of our supply chain caregivers across Intermountain Health,” said Jeromie Atkinson, Intermountain Health chief supply chain officer. “Their commitment to serving clinicians, supporting patient care, and finding better ways to deliver value is what makes this recognition possible.”
Gartner had three key themes this year while evaluating health care supply chain systems: a renewed emphasis on cost management and value delivery, the advancement of digital supply chain capabilities, and a broader commitment to clinical collaboration.
Atkinson explained that the Intermountain Sourcing Center teams captured more than $50 million in supply expense savings and $181 million in cost avoidance.
The Gartner report added, “Intermountain’s supply chain organization (SCO) strategy builds on systemwide initiatives that drive efficiency, transparency and scalability. Each initiative simplifies processes, streamlines decision making, and strengthens partnerships across the system.”
The report also recognized the expansion of the Intermountain Supply Chain system, noting the new 92,000 square-foot Billings, Montana Consolidated Services Center.
