Tinggly’s National Survey Identifies 2025’s Most Popular Cities for Adventure-Based Gifting

Data Shows More than Half of Recipients Will Try Something Daring if Gifted to Them

(PRUnderground) May 21st, 2025

In a new national survey, Tinggly, a premier experiential gift provider, reveals that from the bustling streets of New York City to the beaches of Florida and the red rocks of the Southwest, Americans are embracing experiences over material things when it comes to gifting in 2025. And the most requested experiences are daring – and according to 50 percent of the respondents — something they wouldn’t necessarily have done on their own if they didn’t receive the experience as a gift! Here are the top adventures in the 5 leading cities:

  • NYC: The Ultimate Skyscraping Adventure at Edge
  • Chicago: A Premium Chicago Brunch Cruise on the Odyssey
  • Miami: Romantic Plane Tour of Miami with Champagne
  • Las Vegas: 12,500ft Skydive Jump over Las Vegas
  • Los Angeles: Sunrise Temecula Balloon Adventure

Other top experiences currently trending among US gift recipients include skyline dinner cruises, immersive cooking classes, and spa retreats. These types of gifts are being redeemed not just in one or two cities, but across the country, with New York City, Florida, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Chicago among the most popular destinations to try something new.

Whether it’s zip-lining through a forest, touring a vineyard, or relaxing with a partner at a five-star hotel, Americans are choosing experiences that feel personal, immersive, and unforgettable.

The survey, which polled US-based customers, revealed that 90% would rather receive an experience than a material gift. A full one-third said experiences make their lives feel more fulfilling, while others cited the joy of doing something meaningful with loved ones—and the chance to create social media–worthy moments.

So, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or just want to say “thank you” in a way they’ll never forget, the message is clear: skip the sweater. Give a story.

Founded in 2014, Tinggly specializes in offering thousands of experiential gifts through prepaid vouchers that allow recipients to book an experience or stay of their choice. The company’s mission is to inspire people to “Give stories, not stuff,” believing that experiences create more meaningful connections than material gifts.
