Jami M. Geske encourages Christians to start a daily conversation with God

By: WebWire

Need someone to talk to? Someone who would listen and not judge? Why not to God? He is not a faraway God, off busy somewhere else, but a Heavenly Father who is as close as one's own heartbeat. It is author Jami M. Geske's prayer that every Christian always start their day with God and talk to Him. She helps her intended audience develop such a routine with her prayer guide “Coming Home to You” (Christian Faith Publishing; 2021).

To develop a closer, deeper relationship with God, one needs to make prayer a habit. “Coming Home to You” helps the reader develop such a habit by providing a daily prayer, a starting place for a conversation with God. The book is a Christian's guide to living an active prayer life. It is filled with daily prayers designed to help the reader get more comfortable with prayer, pour out their heart little by little before God, and develop a closer relationship with Him, which the author emphasizes.

“I've told my children that you can't have a relationship with someone you don't communicate with regularly,” Geske wrote in her book's preface. “If a person is important to you, you don't ignore them or just give them fragments of your time and attention. The same must be true of our relationship with God.”

This prayer guide will do more than to help the Christian strengthen their faith and teach them to pray. It also invites them to look at prayer as a journey – as a journey home to God, their creator and sustainer.

“Close your eyes and picture yourself coming home from a long journey. The trip may have been enjoyable, but you just want to get home and curl up with someone who loves you. This book is designed to bring you home to the one who loves you more than anything,” said the author.
