Cecily Watson Kelln's memoir “Becoming the Admiral's Wife: A Dual Memoir of a Called Pair” enthralls its readers through its captivating tale of finding love amid failed marriages, grief, and abandonment. In her award-winning memoir, the author exemplifies Christian faith as she charts life's tribulations to discover her truth.

“Becoming the Admiral's Wife: A Dual Memoir of a Called Pair” revolves around the writer's voyage in coming to faith which eventually leads her to the love of her life, retired Navy Admiral Al. The admiral's complementary memoir is cleverly woven into the story. This magnifies what Christian love is all about. Kelln credits her mother's devotion to Jesus as one of her vessels of hope.

The author welcomes her readers to her idyllic childhood at “Cackleberry Farm.” As Cecily explores the world of womanhood, she faces difficulties finding love, as marked by failed marriages. Faithfully venturing the vast world, Cecily spends two life-changing years in Peru as a Peace Corps volunteer. Mesmerizing adventures, including a heartfelt baptism, lead her to a rewarding friendship and marriage with her now loving husband.

“Becoming the Admiral's Wife” is a powerful story of life in the presence of God. Its highly dramatic chapters serve as testimonies of finding peace and happiness even in a dark and broken world. The book was displayed at the 2022 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference & Exhibition on June 24–27, 2022, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C., by the ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing company.
