Terra Security Becomes First AWS Partner to Achieve Security Competency for Autonomous Security Validation

AWS recognizes Terra Security as the inaugural validated provider of AI-powered autonomous penetration testing

Terra Security, a pioneer in agentic Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), announced today that it has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency status in the Application Security category, including Static Code Analysis and Autonomous Security Validation. Terra is the first AWS partner approved for the newly launched Autonomous Security Validation use case.

Within nine months of emerging from stealth and joining the AWS Partner Network (APN), Terra achieved differentiated recognition across both the AWS Security and AI Competencies. AWS has also formally recognized Terra as an Agentic AI product, making it the only validated offensive security platform in this category.

“The era of manual, point-in-time penetration testing is ending,” said Shahar Peled, CEO and cofounder of Terra Security. “Autonomous, continuous validation is the new standard. Being the first AWS partner validated for Autonomous Security Validation and achieving differentiated recognition across both AI and Security in under a year, reflects the maturity of our agentic AI platform and the accelerating demand for scalable offensive security.”

Modern software development cycles have dramatically outpaced traditional testing models. While more than 60 percent of organizations deploy code weekly, nearly 75 percent test monthly or less, creating a widening exposure gap. Traditional penetration testing cannot scale to match modern development cycles.

“Point-in-time testing simply doesn’t hold up in modern development environments,” said Iain Paterson, CISO at WELL Health. “Terra gives us continuous visibility through white box penetration testing with ongoing code review. As AI can dramatically increase the depth and frequency of testing, what truly sets Terra apart is the human oversight that ensures safety and trust. We’ve received meaningful, critical findings without being inundated by false positives, which is essential for a healthcare organization operating at scale.”

Terra closes the exposure gap with AI-powered pentesting driven by agentic AI workflows that autonomously discover and exploit vulnerabilities, generate verified proof of impact, and continuously retest as code and behavior evolve. Unlike legacy SAST or DAST tools that prioritize speed at the expense of exploit validation, Terra enables organizations to reduce testing cycles from four to six weeks to just two to four hours, while expanding coverage from approximately 15 percent to full application coverage.

“This recognition validates the technical architecture we built from day one,” said Gal Malachi, CTO of Terra Security. “Our AI-native system continuously reasons about application behavior, safely executes controlled exploitation paths, and produces verifiable, exploit-driven findings aligned to real business risk. We look forward to deepening our integrations with AWS and continuing to advance autonomous security innovation.”

Terra’s relationship with AWS began with its participation in the AWS and CrowdStrike Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator and rapidly expanded through its progression within the APN. Achieving dual competency recognition in Security and AI within under a year highlights Terra’s strong alignment with the AWS strategic focus on agentic AI and next-generation offensive security.

“Terra Security's AWS Security Competency achievement in Autonomous Security Validation demonstrates its leadership in AI-driven security testing,” said Brian Mendenhall, WW Head, Security & Identity Partner Specialists at AWS. “Terra's ability to autonomously discover, exploit, and validate vulnerabilities at machine speed while integrating seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines makes them an invaluable partner for AWS customers looking to secure applications at development velocity.”

This designation recognizes that Terra has successfully met AWS requirements for providing cybersecurity capabilities to AWS customers. The AWS Security Competency directly aligns common customer use cases to AWS Partner capabilities, accelerating positive security outcomes. Achieving the AWS Security Competency differentiates Terra as a cybersecurity provider and AWS Partner with cloud security skillsets to earn the distinction of AWS Security Competency Partner.

AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Partners with deep industry experience and expertise. Terra’s differentiation is now reflected in AWS Marketplace.
