The passage “For zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me” Psalm 69:9 NIV applies well to the work of Corinthia Lenoir Hall, author of the Christian book “I Survived To Testify: Refined To Shine.”
Just as Jesus drove out the greed, selfishness, and callousness – as represented by the merchants and the moneychangers – from the Temple, Corinthia aims to drive out sexual immorality, spiritual rape, spiritual abortion, and spiritual contamination from the house of God, which is the church. The author laments the prevalence of men and women of God in leadership who perverted Scripture and turn deaf ear to the cries for help as they are “too concerned about their image and their name, while so many of God's sheep are being misled, contaminated, infected, and shamed in the church.”
By publishing “I Survived To Testify,” Corinthia is taking the church leadership to task and working to bring back accountability, integrity, and responsible leadership to the house of God. She has enough of church leaders who are bringing shame to the name of Jesus for their perversion and immorality. She said of them, “They are not any different than the sinner man that commit rape and try to cover it up out in the world, by any means necessary.”
Corinthia wrote “I Survived To Testify” with those who have experienced sin, pain, and shame in the church in her mind. The author is speaking up for the many men and women who have experienced spiritual abuse at the hands of the church leadership but are afraid or ashamed to speak up for fear of repercussions.
“My story is not to make the church look bad,” said Corinthia, “but rather in hopes of the making the church to open their eyes and take a closer look at why many of God's people are being wounded in the church… My story is not about all church leaders, nor is it to bring shame to those that are truly walking with our Lord and Savior.”
“I Survived To Testify” will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at their exhibit at booth 1147 for the 2022 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference & Exhibition on June 24-27, 2022, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C.
