Thousands remain without water in western North Carolina, a week after Helene hit the area. A rise in crime has prompted a curfew in Black Mountain. On top of all this, misinformation has become the latest problem hindering recovery efforts.

WE'VE BEEN SEEING SIGHTS LIKE THIS THROUGHOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN AND NOW THE FOCUS IS ON CLEANING UP DEBRIS AND MAKING SURE THAT PEOPLE HAVE POWER AND WATER. THE TOWN IS UNDER CURFEW FROM 07:00PM UNTIL 06:00AM UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THAT'S LARGELY DUE TO HOW DARK IT GETS BECAUSE POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED YET.
