Our stretch of pleasant weather continues this weekend, though the afternoons will be warmer.



Warmer weather arrives ahead of next cold front, rain chance

<p>Meteorologist Grant Skinner here in the Weather Center, a beautiful end to our Sunday. Check out this sunset from Clayton. Amanda sent this in, a beautiful shot there, and also Becky sent this is from Irwin of the Moon, looking. Bright and beautiful this evening. We have a mixture of mid and upper level clouds, with some more cloud cover that will build in over the next couple of days, ahead of our next chance for showers and storms that arrives during the middle of this week. For now though, a dry and warm start with highs in the low to mid 80s, and temperatures will finally drop after that cold front passes, dropping to around 70 degrees by the end of the week. Forecast lows overnight though, sitting at around 60 by Monday morning, 60 in Raleigh, 62 in Fayetteville, 58 in Rocky Mount, South Hill dropping to 57 degrees to start the day Monday, and throughout the day will warm into the mid 80s, so, more warmth with partly cloudy skies throughout the day, dropping to the 70s by 6 o'clock in the evening. So it should be a very pleasant start to the Week, but warm. 83 Monday, 84 Tuesday, dropping to 78 by Wednesday, so closer to average by the middle of the week, then finally really dropping off on a Thursday and Friday, dropping to around 70 degrees for our highs to end the week. So it's gonna be much cooler, more that fall feel to end the week after this cold front passes. So again, that best chance for showers and storms, likely Wednesday, some of that rain could continue through early Thursday, then that front passes and we'll have that cooler air finally. So dropping. To the 60s and 70s to end the week. We'll stay in the low to mid 70s through the end of next weekend. Leave a chance for some brief showers Thursday onward. We could have an area of low pressure that develops and brings in a bit more moisture. It could bring at least some isolated showers, but for now, we'll deal with some warmer temperatures to start the week. Finally, our next front arrives, bring a better chance for showers and brief storms, and then we'll cool down to end the week.</p>
