Hi, meteorologist Brian Schrader and the big story today. Dangerous heat. Take a look at our forecast as we head through the afternoon. That yellow bar that is the actual temperature forecast. So we're looking at highs in the mid to upper nineties, but the orange bar you see there, that's the heat index and that's what it's gonna feel like when you add the humidity into that heat. So you're, it's gonna feel more like 105 degrees as we head through the rest of the afternoon that gets us into really dangerous heat levels. And that's why the National Weather Service has a heat advisory in effect today. And tomorrow those heat index values could be even higher tomorrow between 105 and 110 degrees. Now, today, we're going to see a lot of sunshine, some clouds mixed in and it can't totally rule out an isolated shower in a few spots. This version of Futurecast has some of that popping up a little later on this afternoon and evening. So just don't be surprised if there is a Sprinkle in your area, but most of us will stay dry tomorrow. A different story. Much better chance of seeing showers and thunderstorms looks like they start to pop up in the early afternoon on this version of Futurecast, pretty decent coverage as we look at the mid and late afternoon into the early evening hours. And that should help some of us at least with the drought situation, not a drought buster but certainly some welcome relief along with that increased chance though, of seeing some showers and storms, we do have an increased severe weather risk tomorrow overnight. The storm prediction center upped some areas to a level two risk of severe weather, especially north of the triangle. The rest of us in a level one risk damaging winds would be the primary threat. With those tomorrow, Anthony Baglione will be taking a look at the latest model data. He'll have updates later this evening on WRL news behind that cold front. We have cooler weather for Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures in the upper eighties that's going to feel nice, but the heat returns as we head later into the week. Look at that for the fourth of July on Thursday, temperatures approaching 100 degrees and it also looks like the humidity is going to get cranked up late in the week.
