ð¨WRAL Weather Alert Dayð¨ Sunday brings Level 2 risk of severe storms to Triangle, several other counties

<p>Good Sunday morning. I'm meteorologist Chris Michaels. Today is a Wral weather alert days. We see the potential for some strong to severe thunderstorms mainly between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. So this is not going to be an all day thing, but you do see that level two risk in the yellow, especially from the triangle and points east damaging wind gusts. It'd be the main threat with any stronger storm that develops. Notice here we are by midday and we're mostly dry. You've got some clouds overhead but no big deal there heading closer to about 4 p.m. That's when we start to see some of these isolated showers and thunderstorms starting west of the triangle, moving into the triangle by about six and then moving east by about eight. So areas like Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, Wayne and Samson counties by eight o'clock could be looking at some pretty nasty storms and even after that, an isolated shower can't be ruled out, but the severe weather threat would be over after nine or 10 pm. High temperatures today ranging between about 88 and 92 Raleigh Durham Goldsboro at 90 degrees then heading into the overnight temperature 65 to 69 quieter and muggy for the overnight hours. If you're going to be at the coast, high rip current risk. Once again today, there were 29 rescues just in Wrightsville and Carolina Beaches yesterday. So definitely be careful as Ernesto continues to move away from the east coast, it's being pushed away by an area of low pressure that eventually brings a break in the humidity. You see that wind coming in out of the west and northwest, heading into the middle and later part of the week. So definitely some cooler mornings. Just look at Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Friday. Low temperatures in Raleigh 59 to 61. Some of us north of the triangle will be in the mid to upper fifties. Really nice refreshing taste of early fall in the mid to late part of the week and afternoon. Highs are not going to be bad at all. Either. Highs, about 80 to 83 from Tuesday through Friday will start to warm things back up into the middle to possibly upper eighties heading into next weekend.</p>
