Authorities have identified Samuel "Sam" Poloche,  Joshua Eyer and William "Alden" Elliot as three of the four law enforcement officers who died in Monday's shooting in Charlotte.

THEY APPROACHED A HOUSE, WERE MET BY GUNFIRE, ACCORDING TO THE CHIEF THE POLICE CHIEF OF CHARLOTTE SAID THAT WE LOST HEROES TODAY THAT THIS A TRAGEDY AS PEOPLE WERE JUST TRYING TO KEEP THIS A COMMUNITY SAFE, THAT WE HAVE ON THE KSEE. WE'RE HERE AT THE MEDIA STAGING AREA WHERE THAT PRESS CONFERENCE WAS GOING ON. &gt;&gt; WE HEARD FROM THE CHARLOTTE CHIEF OF POLICE HERE WHO SAID THEY LOST HEROES TODAY WHO WERE JUST TRYING TO KEEP. &gt;&gt; THIS COMMUNITY SAFE. ALL OF THIS UNFOLDED AROUND ONE 30 THIS AFTERNOON WHEN THE U.S. MARSHALS FUGITIVE TASK FORCE WENT TO A HOME ON GALWAY AVENUE. THEY WERE THERE TO SERVE A WARRANT ON A PERSON FOR POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON. THE POLICE CHIEF SAID HERE JUST A FEW MOMENTS AGO, THEY WERE HIT WITH GUNFIRE AND OFFICERS RETURNED FIRE AND STRUCK ONE PERSON WHO WAS THEN PRONOUNCED DEAD IN THE FRONT YARD. THEN MORE GUNFIRE WAS COMING FROM INSIDE. WE TAKE A LISTEN TO BROADCAST BY RADIO TRAFFIC AROUND THAT TIME TO LEARN HOW ALL OF THIS WAS UNFOLDING. TAKE A LISTEN. &gt;&gt; I JUST REALIZE I'M IN THE CBD HEADQUARTERS IN AND TELL YOU WHAT JOSH HART OFFICE OR POSSIBLY ONE DOWN HESITATION FROM CORRECTION TO THE DOWNSIDE MOVING OVER TO A CALL SO WE CAN ARM STATION HERE. &gt;&gt; NOW WE HAVE NOW LEARNED FOR MEMBERS OF THE U.S. MARSHALS TASK FORCE WERE SHOT 3 OF THEM DIED FOR CHARLOTTE, MECKLENBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS WERE SHOT AND ONE OF THEM IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION RIGHT NOW.
