Several counties will be under a heat advisory again on Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. We'll have one more day with highs in the upper 90s before we get some relief to close out the week.

Sweltering again: One more day of intense heat before relief arrives, Level 1 risk of severe weather the next two days

<p>I'm meteorologist K Campbell in the Wral severe weather center was another summer scorcher out there. 97 was the high at RDU and 98 was the high in Fayetteville. You just have one day left of this heat though. And then temperatures begin to back off for the end of the week. Check out these numbers 86 degrees, the high Friday and Saturday, 89 Sunday and 87 on Monday, the big heat backs off. It's still going to feel like summer out there, but it's just not going to be so sweltering out. We've got a front on the way and that's one of the reasons we see this pattern change, the front is going to stall out over North Carolina. It doesn't quite get here during the day. Wednesday, but Wednesday does feature a better coverage of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. There's a chance a few could be severe and we'll talk about that in a minute. Let's talk about Thursday because that is when the front arrives. We expect to see widespread showers and storms develop Thursday afternoon and evening and the rain could be heavy at times on Thursday, this front, right overhead, there's ample moisture available and the front should be able to just wring it out of the atmosphere so we could see some localized flooding Thursday, Friday. The threat looks like it may stall a little bit further to the south. Still a decent chance of rain and storms. We'll work to see if we can really pinpoint areas could see those storms as we get closer. It's about a 60% chance on Friday. The severe weather threat tomorrow is from the Triangle points north and west. This does include Chatham County and Rocky Mount, north and west damaging wind gusts would be the primary threat. And then later in the week, we've got the flood risk that begins to ramp up the flood risk more scattered Thursday and Friday before going back to low on Saturday. Here's your seven day forecast 97 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday, we are still in the low nineties for highs, but with that 80% chance of rain and storms out there, you're not going to be in direct sunlight at least Friday and Saturday. We've got a lot of clouds in the area, quite a bit of rain in the forecast that will last through the weekend. If you need to get stuff done outside, your best bet would be in the morning over the next several days. That's when rain chances are lowest and the heat is the least severe</p>

There is a Level 1 risk for severe weather on July 16-17.
