Edgecombe County was under a tornado warning between 3:25 a.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday, the third tornado warning there in less than 12 hours.

JUST EXPIRED THERE IN PARTS OF MARTIN COUNTY, WHICH IS JUST EAST OF OUR VIEWING AREA. BUT OF COURSE, WE HAD THE CONFIRMED TORNADO HERE IN EDGECOMBE COUNTY NEAR PINE TOPS. YOU CAN SEE WE STILL HAVE A GOOD BIT OF RAIN, ESPECIALLY FROM THE TRIANGLE AREA EASTERN AND SEVERE STORM CERTAINLY ARE POSSIBLE. LET'S ZOOM IN HERE AND I'LL SHOW YOU WHERE THIS WAS. HERE'S PINE TOPS JUST NORTH OF PINE TOPS ALONG FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH ROAD IS WHERE WE SAW DEBRIS IN THE AIR. WHAT HAPPENS IF A TORNADO TOUCHES DOWN ON AND IT HITS A BUILDING. OUR TREES CAN LACK THAT DEBRIS INTO THE AIR AND THE RADAR CAN SEE IT AND SHOWS UP AS THIS BRIGHT ORANGE AREA. AGAIN, JUST NORTHWEST OF PINE TOP. SO THE TORNADO WAS FIRST DETECTED ON NC 42 AND WERE DRINK FARM ROAD AT ABOUT 3.25. AND THEN AT ABOUT 3.40, TO THE DEBRIS BALL APPEARED. SO WE KNEW THAT THE TORNADO HAD TOUCHED DOWN. LAURA LEVINE IS ON HER WAY. WE'D LOVE TO SEE ANY MORE PHOTOS ARE STARTING TO GET SOME OF THOSE IN WRAL DOT COM SLASH REPORTED, OF COURSE, TO SEND THOSE. SO HERE'S WHERE THE STORM TRACKER IS ALMOST A PINE TOPS RIGHT NOW. I'M GONNA SEND IT OUT TO LURE LEVY. WE ARE ABOUT 4 MINUTES OUT FROM DRAKE FARM ROAD WHERE WE FIRST GOT THAT INITIAL REPORT OF DEBRIS DETECTED TAKING A LIVE LOOK AT THE ROADS AND YOU SHOULD ALSO SEE THOSE PICTURES THAT WERE NOW GETTING IN FROM VIEWERS OF THE REPORTED DAMAGE. WE GOT REPORTS OF TREES DOWN ON POWER LINES ON SCHOOL STREET AS WELL AS SOME DAMAGE TO A HOME ON STREET IN THIS AREA. SO THE VIEWER WHO SENT IN THAT PHOTO OF THAT DAMAGE TO THE HOME, SHE TELLS ME THAT IT'S HER FRIEND'S HOUSE. I AM HAPPY TO REPORT. ACCORDING TO HER THAT EVERYONE IN THAT HOUSE IS OK.
