Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, National Grid and The National Grid Foundation have provided nearly $3 million in relief to support local communities. From helping set-up temporary hospitals to care for the overflow of COVID-19 patients during the height of the pandemic to organizing blood donations, National Grid has found ways to give back. National Grid has also offered COVID-19 payment agreements for customers, as well as multilingual free financial assistance webinars for awareness of financial assistance programs available to income-eligible customers. Additionally, as COVID-19 vaccines rolled out, National Grid has supported Massachusetts and Rhode Island commercial customers that needed to expand their cold storage capacity. The company began offering incentives of up to $1,500 for ENERGY STAR® certified cold storage products through June 30, 2021, to help customers to purchase energy-efficient models that reduce carbon emissions, while also saving on operating costs.
