-- Western Summit Electric is pleased to announce a new student scholarship and bold investment in Abbotsford’s future. The Western Summit Electric - Build The Future Scholarship is intended to empower the next generation of electrician Abbotsford trade professionals.
Western Summit Electric’s roots in the trades run deep. Owner Chad Friesen, a Yale Secondary graduate, began his electrical apprenticeship in Abbotsford—making this scholarship a meaningful way to support students following similar paths.
Those interested can submit their application by March 31, 2026 to receive the opportunity to earn one of two $1000 scholarships and develop their path into the skilled trades industry.
Funds can be used for options including tuition, tools, exams, or training expenses.
The winner of the scholarships will be announced April 15, 2026.
Those eligible much be:
- A resident of British Columbia
- Enrolled in or planning to enroll in a trade school or apprenticeship
- Between the ages of 16 and 19
- Either a high-school or post-secondary student from Abbotsford School District 34
