Ron believes that anyone, from any walk of life, can accomplish anything, which is why he began his career in public speaking and performing at his church at the age of 15. After working at JC Penney, Ron married a model he met in the fashion industry, and they decided to open a modeling school. This eventually led to the founding of iPOP! LA in 2003, which showcased a dynamic way to promote talent to agents, managers, and casting directors.
Kirsten Poulin became co-owner in 2015 and has brought many innovations to the event, such as creating the first convention to digitize all scoring and back-end functions, creating new events more aligned with industry changes, and implementing other innovations that make the event run more smoothly and provide a better experience for talent and attending industry leaders.
Under Kirsten and Ron's leadership, iPOP! LA has become a well-known platform for aspiring actors, models, singers, and dancers to showcase their talent to industry professionals. The five-day event is held twice annually in Southern California and features celebrity boot camps, industry seminars, and competitions that draw performers from all over the US and over 30 countries.
