According to the National Weather Service, several downed trees were reported in Willow Spring, and several viewers told WRAL News they saw multiple downed trees along Interstate 40 between Raleigh and Benson.

TREES ARE DOWN ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT IT WASN'T A TORNADO THAT CAUSED IT AND AT LEAST ONE CASE IN JOHNSTON COUNTY, IT WAS A MICROBURST WHEN THE STORM, RUSSIAN DRESSING WIND AND RAIN CAME DOWN ONTO THE GROUND. WELL, GOOD EVENING. THANKS FOR JOINING US TONIGHT. I'M JULIAN GRACE IS THIS IS WHAT A LEVEL TO CAN BRING AND THAT'S WHY IS THE WRAL WEATHER ALERT DAY. THEY HAD TO REMOVE FROM THE ROAD. THE REST WERE LARGE TREES THAT WERE LEANING ACROSS GUARDRAILS IN ONE TO THE SHOULDER. TRAFFIC HAD TO MERGE TO ONE LANE TO AVOID SOME OF THOSE BIG LIMBS THAT NC DEAL. T REPRESENTATIVE SAID AS FAR AS THEY KNEW THAT LINE OF TREES DOWN ON I-40 WAS THE WORST DAMAGE ON MAIN ROADS THEY HAD SEEN FROM STORMS THIS AFTERNOON. VIEWERS HAVE BEEN SENDING US VIDEO OF THE STORM DAMAGE. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS RIGHT HERE. THIS WAS THE SCENE ON ZACKS MILL ROAD IN JOHNSON COUNTY EARLIER TONIGHT IN MOVING THIS MASSIVE TREE REQUIRED QUITE A BIT OF CHAINSAW WORK. VIEWERS HAVE ALSO BEEN SITTING IN PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE FROM TONIGHT'S STORMS.
