From Traditional Watchmaking to Smart Wearables: WINNOTIME, Evolved from the China (Shenzhen) Watch & Clock Fair, Leads a Structural Shift in the Time Industry

SHENZHEN, China - Nov 10, 2025 - After a six-year pause, the China (Shenzhen) Watch & Clock Fair will return in June 2026 with a new identity and an expanded mandate: capturing a share of the fast-growing global smart wearables market, valued at $86.6 billion this year. Organizers say the relaunch—now branded as the WINNOTIME—reflects the industry’s rapid convergence of traditional horology and AI-enabled health technology.

The 31st edition of the event will open June 26, 2026, at the Shenzhen Futian Convention & Exhibition Center. Long regarded as a flagship gathering for China’s timepiece sector, the fair is being repositioned to address rising global demand for devices that blend mechanical craftsmanship with digital intelligence and lifestyle connectivity.

“Our industry is undergoing a profound transformation,” said Zhu Shunhua, chairman of the organizing committee. “Young consumers still value mechanical artistry and heritage, but they now expect watches to connect seamlessly with their digital lives. The future lies in breaking boundaries and creating new opportunities through integration.”

A major component of the relaunch is the debut of WINNOTIME, an open-innovation platform aimed at linking watch brands, AI companies and advanced manufacturing firms. Organizers describe the initiative as a collaborative ecosystem designed to unite “technology + fashion” and “brand + smart manufacturing,” helping companies accelerate product innovation and cross-sector partnerships.

The 2026 fair will feature three core exhibition zones representing the full industry value chain:

● Finished Watches Zone, showcasing domestic and international brands across both mechanical and smart categories.

● Smart Manufacturing Zone, highlighting next-generation components, supply-chain solutions and production technologies.

● AI & Software Ecosystem Zone, a newly added section dedicated to algorithm developers, health-data platforms and other “soft-power” innovators driving the next wave of wearable intelligence.

To reinforce its innovation-driven positioning, the fair will implement stricter exhibitor criteria. Participating companies must submit a summary of their innovation achievements from the past three years, covering areas such as AI integration, design breakthroughs and intelligent manufacturing. An expert committee will review submissions and curate the final exhibitor list to ensure the event showcases verifiable, high-value innovation.

Shenzhen’s role as China’s leading technology hub provides the foundation for the fair’s new direction. With more than four decades of Special Economic Zone development, the city is widely recognized as the country’s center for tech manufacturing, watchmaking and jewelry production. Organizers say the fair aims to help the industry move from internal competition to “value co-creation,” guided by the belief that “the essence of the smart era is symbiosis rather than replacement.”

When WINNOTIME opens in June 2026, Shenzhen is expected to again become a focal point for the global watch and wearable-tech industries—this time with an eye firmly on the future, where heritage craftsmanship and artificial intelligence intersect to define the next chapter of innovation.
