Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen”is one of the highlights of the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit. By exploring new technologies, new models, and new formats of Internet development, it builds an important platform for Internet project, technology, talent, and capital cooperation. The competition is committed to promoting global internet cooperation and innovation, stimulating the vitality of internet entrepreneurship, gathering young internet talents, and promoting precise matchmaking of the internet industry in a high-quality manner globally, contributing to the vigorous development of the global digital economy. The year 2023 witnesses the 10th anniversary of the World Internet Conference and 5th anniversary of Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen”.
Efforts over four years paid off.
It was in 2019 when the "Straight to Wuzhen" World Internet Conference was first included in the World Internet Conference section and this year marks the fifth year. In the past four years, the competition has attracted 3,450 projects from 31 countries and regions to participate. The cumulative financing amount of the projects in the previous finals exceeded 77.5 billion yuan, with a total valuation of over RMB 647.8 billion.
After four years, the competition has become more professional, diversified, and practical as time goes by. In 2019, the competition selected high-quality projects around the world in the forms of "domestic trials, overseas trials, and online contests", and promoted the precise docking of various elements of the global Internet by organizing special matchmaking meetings, capital matchmaking events, talent exchange meetings, etc., to inject industrial innovation momentum into the conference. In 2020, under the epidemic situation, the competition specially launched the "Digital Anti-epidemic" category, in the mode of "cloud roadshow, cloud interaction, and cloud live broadcast" by combining national strategies such as "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction, and the Belt and Road Initiative". In 2021, the competition was subdivided into five categories, including AI, integrated circuits, consumer Internet, industrial Internet, and 5G applications, which selected several projects with innovation, breakthrough, and high application value, and achieved the goal of "promoting industrial project cooperation and industrial agglomeration development" through the competition. In 2022, the competition was becoming more professional and global. It has set up seven tracks including digital medicine, digital "emission peak, and carbon neutrality", AI, industrial Internet, connected vehicles, and cybersecurity services, and invited academicians such as Wu Jianping, Shen Changxiang, Li Lanjuan, Ding Rongjun, and Zhou Xiaoxin to consult on the overall direction of the project. Among the 70 projects shortlisted for the finals, there are 5 listed companies, 10 unicorn companies, and 13 quasi-unicorn companies.
Today, the "Straight to Wuzhen" Global Internet Competition has become the publicity "window" of the World Internet Conference. More companies have learned about Wuzhen, Zhejiang, China through the competition, and more Internet companies, capital institutions, and scientific research institutes have joined in the big ecology of the World Internet Conference, adding to its international influence.
A fifth year of sailing in a golden time
Registration for the 2023 "Straight to Wuzhen" World Internet Conference has been officially launched a few days ago. All participants shall access from the official website of the World Internet Conference（ https://cn.wicinternet.org/ , and find the Important Event - Straight to Wuzhen, enter the page and click on Register to Participate to register.
The competition will continue to subdivide the tracks this year and become more professional. High-quality projects in the field of digital economy are collected through the official website. After completing the online review, some core cities at home and abroad are chosen to hold offline semi-finals according to the regional industrial advantages. Once the projects are shortlisted, they will hold the final round in Wuzhen, where the projects from home and abroad will compete on the same stage and experts will conduct on-site evaluation and scoring. And finally, the Grand Prize, the first, second, and third prizes will be awarded for each category, and the Grand Prize projects of each category will have the opportunity to be presented live on the stage of the award ceremony. This year, the grand prize project will receive 6 million yuan in rewards and funds and 5 million yuan in fund equity investments after substantial progress; the first prize project will receive 4 million yuan in rewards and funds and 3 million yuan in fund equity investments after substantial progress; the second prize project will receive 2 million yuan in rewards and funds and 2 million yuan in fund equity investments after substantial progress; the third prize project will receive a maximum of 1 million yuan in rewards and subsidies after substantial progress in the town.

The 2023 Global Internet Competition of “Straight to Wuzhen” will set up six themed competitions, including AI, Digital Medicine, Connected Vehicles, Industrial Internet, Intelligent Sensing and Digital Ocean and Aerospace, combining global cutting-edge technology trends and focused industrial development areas.
The specific content of each field are as follows:
1.AI: Data elements, storage and computing power, AI chips, algorithms and large models, AI applications, etc.
2.Digital Medicine: High-end medical equipment, digitalization, networking, and informatization of the entire process of diagnosis, treatment, and service.
3.Connected Vehicles: Power batteries, advanced equipment manufacturing, communication systems, EIC systems, smart cockpits, autonomous driving solutions, vehicle manufacturing, etc.
4.Industrial Internet: Equipment layer, network layer, platform layer, and software layer related core technologies or solutions, industrial big data security, etc.
5.Intelligent Sensing: Materials and components, data storage and transmission, signal conversion, system and software and hardware integration, solutions for specific fields, etc.
6.Digital Ocean and Aerospace: The content includes digital equipment or systems in the development of ocean and aerospace industry such as ship digitization，marine inspection，management, disaster warning, navigation, positioning services, etc.
Participants should meet the following conditions:
1. The participating project shall comply with one of the six fields specified in the competition;
2. The participating project subject must be a registered independent legal entity with good reputation and no adverse records;
3. The participating entities should have independent intellectual property rights for the project, and have not infringed on any other's patent rights, copyrights, trademark rights, or other intellectual property rights, and must not violate relevant national laws and regulations. Otherwise, they will be disqualified.
4. The participating entities need to submit entries and related materials according to the competition requirements and be responsible for the accuracy and authenticity of all information and sign a letter of commitment to authenticity. Once false information is found, they will be disqualified.
5. The organizing committee of the competition will publicize the results on the official website of World Internet Conference (https://gic.wicwuzhen.cn/) and accept social supervision.
