The world’s largest tech investor just placed a $30 billion bet that the future of security runs on robots. SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son is in talks to acquire Allied Universal, the largest security services company in the US with 800,000 employees, with the stated intent of deploying AI-powered autonomous systems across its operations. The deal follows SoftBank’s $5.4 billion acquisition of ABB Robotics and its push into physical AI through a planned US listing. The companies already executing that playbook include Knightscope, Inc. (NASDAQ: KSCP/quote">NASDAQ: KSCP), SoftBank Group Corp. (OTC:SFTBY), NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA/quote">NASDAQ: NVDA), Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA/quote">NASDAQ: TSLA), and Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (NASDAQ: KTOS/quote">NASDAQ: KTOS).

Knightscope, Inc. (NASDAQ: KSCP/quote">NASDAQ: KSCP) is a Silicon Valley security technology company whose AI-powered robots and connected devices help safeguard the places people live, work, study, and visit across the US, from schools and residential complexes to factories, logistics hubs, and transit centers. By combining hardware, software, and live human response into a recurring-revenue service, Knightscope captures real-time data and turns it into actionable intelligence and forensics that give officers and guards capabilities traditional cameras and patrols simply cannot match.

Over the last two days, Knightscope, Inc. (NASDAQ: KSCP/quote">NASDAQ: KSCP) released back-to-back news: preliminary Q3 results showing its third consecutive quarter of triple-digit revenue growth, and the live debut of Signals, its AI-driven orchestration software and operational digital twin. The Company operates across 434 clients in 42 U.S. States.

On October 20, 2026, Knightscope announced preliminary, unaudited results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026: consolidated revenue of approximately $8.7 million, up 177% from $3.1 million in the third quarter of 2025, marking the company’s third consecutive quarter of triple-digit year-over-year revenue growth. The result follows Q2 2026 revenue of $9.0 million, up 228% year-over-year, and Q1 2026 revenue of $6.0 million, up 106% year-over-year. Full Q3 results are expected in mid-November 2026.

The day prior, Knightscope announced that Signals, its AI-driven orchestration software and operational digital twin, is live in its initial release at Knightscope Headquarters. From a single screen, a Mission Intelligence Analyst can now position a virtual camera anywhere above a site, automatically dispatch that camera to an alert location, or walk a virtual patrol through a facility at eye level as if physically on site. A live demonstration is scheduled for November 5, 2026.

The Signals release marks the first operational deployment of the software platform that will orchestrate the company’s autonomous robots, stationary security systems, and licensed security agents under a single real-time command picture

Physical AI Meets Physical Security: How The Buildout Is Taking Shape

SoftBank Group Corp. (OTC:SFTBY) is in early-stage discussions to acquire Allied Universal at a potential equity value of approximately $18 billion. Allied provides security staffing for businesses, venues, and major events, and has a growing presence in data center security. Reuters reported that SoftBank would look to eventually replace some Allied staff with robots for certain security tasks, though deployment of humanoid security workers is expected to take time. The deal follows SoftBank’s $5.4 billion agreement to acquire ABB Robotics, its planned US listing of physical AI company Roze, its $65 billion investment in OpenAI, and its acquisition of DigitalBridge. Deliberations remain preliminary and no final decisions have been made. SoftBank reports fiscal Q2 2026 results on November 10, 2026.

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA/quote">NASDAQ: NVDA) released Nemotron 3.5 Super VL this week, an open 120-billion-parameter model built for always-on enterprise agents that runs five times faster than the next best model in its class at one-fifth the parameter count of NVIDIA’s largest reasoning model. The model is being post-trained for agentic security applications by multiple organizations, including AI21 and Alice, which are customizing it for cybersecurity attack resilience. Separately, NVIDIA expanded its sovereign AI framework with the European Broadcasting Union in Berlin, establishing reference architectures for how organizations can deploy AI agents while retaining control of their data, infrastructure, and security.

Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA/quote">NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk stated this week that Optimus and Cybercab will be “the vast majority of Tesla’s value,” framing robotics and AI as the core of the company’s long-term story rather than cars. Musk wrote that the only technologies he expects to scale to “incredible size” economically are super intelligence, robots, solar power, and mass-to-space, and that success in the first two makes the rest attainable. Tesla reports Q3 results after the close on October 21, with analysts expecting EPS of $0.43 on revenue of $27.90 billion, and updates on Optimus production progress and Cybercab’s limited Austin service rollout are expected to draw as much investor attention as the headline numbers.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (NASDAQ: KTOS/quote">NASDAQ: KTOS) was awarded a potential $446.8 million Other Transaction Agreement with the US Space Force on April 8, 2026, serving as prime contractor for the Ground Management and Integration program under the Resilient Missile Warning and Tracking initiative. The program develops and sustains ground infrastructure for operating Resilient MWT satellites in Medium Earth Orbit, providing persistent detection and tracking of advanced missile threats including hypersonic glide vehicles. Kratos is leading a team that includes Northrop Grumman, Auria, ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, and Rise8.

Knightscope, Inc. (NASDAQ: KSCP/quote">NASDAQ: KSCP) reported approximately $27 million in estimated renewals, bookings, and client awards for the period from May 20 through September 18, 2026, spanning 109 contracts across seven vertical markets. The total reflects both new client wins and renewals from the company’s existing base across its autonomous machines, stationary security systems, and licensed security force operations.
